Whirlpool Refrigerator Broken Wires Settlement

MARCH 24, 2026

On February 2, 2024, CSK&D filed a class action against Whirlpool asserting claims on behalf of refrigerator owners whose ice makers, water dispensers, and control panels inside the freezer door failed as a result of broken wires.

On February 27, 2026, the parties entered into a Settlement Agreement proposing the settlement of the action. On March 3, 2026, the Court granted preliminary approval of the proposed Settlement. Under the Settlement, eligible class members may be entitled to claim significant cash compensation (e.g., up to 50% of the original purchase price) or a free repair.
