Uponor PEX Piping Premature Failure – Class Action Investigation
Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith LLP is investigating potential class action claims on behalf of homeowners with homes installed with Uponor PEX (cross-linked polyethylene) piping systems, including their Red, White, Blue, and “natural” PEX pipes.
Uponor PEX pipes manufactured and installed after 2010 are reportedly prone to premature failure. These pipes can suffer from defects, primarily oxidative degradation, stemming from the manufacturing process. This degradation can cause the pipes to become brittle, leading to cracks and leaks within as few as three to ten years of installation, significantly shorter than their advertised lifespan of 50 to 100 years.
Failures in these PEX piping systems can result in significant water damage to property, including drywall, insulation, paint, and flooring, and may necessitate costly repairs and complete re-plumbing of the affected homes. It is alleged that Uponor knew or should have known about these defects but failed to disclose them to consumers.
If you own a residential property with Uponor PEX Red, White, Blue, or “natural” piping manufactured and installed after 2010, and you have experienced issues such as cracks, leaks, or related property damage, please fill-out the form provided below with details of your situation.
