Tariff Surcharge – Class Action Investigation
Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith LLP is investigating potential class action claims on behalf of consumers who have been subjected to undisclosed tariff surcharges or other hidden fees added to their purchase price.
According to recent news reports, some merchants and businesses are beginning to impose tariff surcharges on goods that are subject to the recently implemented tariffs on imported goods. These surcharges are often not disclosed to consumers until after a purchase has already been made and the charge appears as an unexpected item listed on their receipt. For vehicle purchases, this additional charge may come in the form of a destination fee.
These fees can range anywhere from 10% to 25% of the actual retail price, and the percentage may not be accurately reflective of the actual amount in tariffs owed. Businesses may allegedly be taking advantage of a complex situation in order to artificially inflate the price.
If you purchased a vehicle or other product that was subject to an unexpected tariff surcharge, please fill-out the form provided below with details of your situation.
