Nicholas E. Chimicles, founding partner of Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith LLP (CSK&D) and chairman of the firm’s Executive Committee, was presented with the prestigious Thaddeus Stevens Award at Philadelphia’s Public Interest Law Center (“Law Center”) Annual Gala held on October 6, 2016. Since 1969, the Law Center has been the law firm to which individuals and organizations turn to address and challenge laws, policies and practices that perpetuate discrimination, inequality and poverty. Each year at its annual Gala, the Law Center honors an individual who has supported its legal efforts and furthered its overall mission. Mr. Chimicles has served on the Board of Directors of the Law Center for more than 10 years.
“I do not think there is a harder working and more committed non-profit board than the Law Center’s,” said Mr. Chimicles, in thanking his fellow Board members and the Law Center’s staff for their contributions and achievements. In conferring the award, Executive Director Jennifer Clarke cited Mr. Chimicles, who has long chaired the Law Center’s Audit/Finance Committee, for his invaluable leadership in strengthening its financial position and streamlining its financial operations.
