Rolling Stone Print Edition Lifetime Membership – Class Action Investigation
Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith is investigating a potential class action related to recent reports that entertainment magazine Rolling Stone changed it terms so that subscribers who purchased lifetime subscriptions to the print magazine will now only receive access to the digital format magazine. This change allegedly alters the terms of the original agreement that subscribers entered into when they paid for a lifetime subscription.
UPDATE – Proposed Class Action Settlement Reached
A proposed class action settlement has been preliminarily approved in Krivin v. Penske Media Corporation, Case No. 2:25-cv-05803, pending in the United States District Court for the Central District of California. Under the terms of the settlement, eligible class members can claim, at no cost: (1) resumed delivery of the printed edition of Rolling Stone Magazine for as long as printed editions of the magazine continue to be published during their lifetime; and (2) two years of access to RollingStone.com. Class members who previously requested and are currently receiving the print edition of Rolling Stone Magazine will continue to receive the print edition and may also claim the two years of access to RollingStone.com.
