OctaPharma Plasma Data Breach – Class Action Investigation

Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith is investigating a potential class action relating to a data breach incident involving  Octapharma Plasma, Inc. (“Octapharma’), a pharmaceutical company that collects, tests, and supplies human blood plasma in creation of pharmaceutical products.

Specifically, it is reported that Octapharma experienced a BlackSuit ransomware attack on April 15, 2024 causing a shutdown of the Company’s 150+ US plasma donation centers for several days.

While OctaPharma has yet to confirm the exact scope of the breach and the information that may have been compromised as result, information accessed may have included, but not limited to, the following from blood plasma donors: name, social security numbers, date of birth, and mailing address.
