Northern District of IL Appoints CSK&D Partner Beena McDonald to Plaintiffs’ Interim Executive Committee in the Lurie Children’s Hospital Data Breach Litigation

On November 13, 2024, the United States District Court for the Northern District of North Illinois appointed Beena McDonald, a Partner at Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith LLP, to the Interim Executive Committee in the Lurie Children’s Hospital data breach litigation. The case alleges that a targeted cyberattack and data breach occurred on January 26, 2024, caused by Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago’s inadequately protected computer systems, which resulted in unauthorized access to the personal and sensitive information of thousands of individuals.
