TRANE & AMERICAN STANDARD AIR CONDITIONER AND HEAT PUMP CLASS ACTION

Livingston v. Trane U.S. Inc., No. 2:17-cv-06480-ES-MAH (D.N.J.)

CSK&D reached a settlement on behalf of current and former owners of nearly 500,000 Trane and American Standard air conditioners and heat pumps that were manufactured with an unapproved rust inhibitor, which caused widespread problems with thermostatic expansion valves or “TXVs.”

The settlement provides for (1) reimbursement of past repair expenses, (2) a free chemical that can prevent future issues plus a labor allowance to inject it, and (3) extended and enhanced warranty coverage for certain units.

Go to the settlement website, www.airconditionersettlement.com, for additional information, to determine whether your air conditioner is included in the class, and to learn how to receive benefits under the settlement.

The Court has granted final approval of the settlement, and claims are now being accepted.  The deadline to file a claim is September 25, 2020.
