Landmark Admin Data Breach  – Class Action Investigation

Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith is investigating a potential class action relating to a data breach incident involving Landmark Admin, LLC, an administrative services company who works with a number of insurance companies, including American Monumental Life Insurance Company, Pellerin Life Insurance Company, American Benefit Life Insurance Company, Liberty Bankers Life Insurance Company, Continental Mutual Insurance Company and the Capitol Life Insurance Company.

 The Company confirmed that approximately 806,519 individuals had their information taken in a data breach incident according to a filing with the Maine Attorney General.

What Happened at Landmark Admin?

On or around May 13, 2024, an unauthorized user gained access to Landmark Admin’s system.  Landmark Admin retained a cybersecurity firm to conduct further investigation to confirm the scope of the breach. 

Following the investigation’s completion, it was confirmed that the information compromised may have included: full name, date of birth, mailing address, social security number, tax identification number, driver’s license number (or state-issued photo ID number), passport number, health insurance policy number, and medical information.
