Jeep Wrangler Defective Oil Pressure Sensor – Class Action Investigation

CSK&D is currently investigating a potential class action lawsuit concerning the premature failure of oil pressure sensors in 2019 and 2020 JEEP Wranglers. Numerous consumers have reported an issue where the low oil pressure light illuminates on the dashboard, prompting them to stop using the vehicle. They then incur expenses for towing the car to a repair shop and having the oil checked, only to discover that the oil dipstick indicator shows an adequate oil level. Even after the sensor is replaced, consumers continue to experience problems such as additional low oil PSI readings, inaccurate oil PSI readings, and the persistent appearance of Check engine, oil light, and the relevant Diagnostic trouble code (DTC).

It is crucial to have accurate and functioning oil pressure sensors as they alert drivers to low oil levels, which can lead to irreversible damage to the car’s engine. Consumers are unable to disregard the recurring warning lights, even if they are false, as ignoring them could result in further costly repairs if the oil level actually drops. Additionally, customers express frustration at having to limit or entirely abstain from using their vehicles due to uncertainty about an oil issue, as well as incurring multiple visits to the repair shop to address the problem.
