Infutor Data Breach Investigation

Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith is investigating potential class action claims against Infutor, a leading consumer identity management and resolution company owned by Verisk, for a reported data security incident that is alleged to have impacted the personal and highly sensitive identifying information of approximately 676 million individuals.

According to recent dark web monitoring reports, a threat actor has claimed to have breached Infutor’s data. As of this posting, this breach has not been confirmed by Infutor or Verisk, nor has it been officially reported to state attorneys general or other regulatory bodies.

What Happened at Infutor?

In early March 2026, a threat actor posted a database for leak or sale on a cybercrime forum. The actor claims the breach contains 676,798,866 unique records of American citizens, including deceased persons, and provided a 15 million record sample online. The actor also credited a third-party cyber intelligence article for enabling access to the data.

While no official breach notification has been issued to consumers or regulators, the listing alleges a massive exposure of consumer profiles. Because Infutor operates as a data broker—aggregating information to help brands identify and understand their customers—many impacted individuals may have never directly interacted with the company.

What Information Was Compromised?

According to the threat actor’s description and sample data posted online, the compromised information includes highly sensitive personal details, including but not limited to:

  • Social Security Numbers (SSNs)
  • Full Names
  • Dates of Birth
  • Physical Addresses (Street, City, State, ZIP)
  • Phone Numbers

Why Is This Important?

If these allegations are confirmed, the exposure of this specific type of information—particularly Social Security Numbers combined with full names and dates of birth—places consumers at a critical risk of identity theft, targeted phishing attacks, and severe financial fraud.
