American Associated Pharmacies Data Breach – Class Action Investigation
Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith is investigating a potential class action relating to a data breach incident involving American Associated Pharmacies (“AAP”), an organization that oversees a number of independent pharmacies located throughout the United States.
What Happened at AAP?
According to reports on or around November 13, 2024, the Embargo ransomware hacker’s group claimed responsibility for a cyberattack on American Associated Pharmacies resulting in a large cache of potential sensitive personal and health data to an unspecified number of individuals being exposed on the dark web.
Details surrounding the data breach are still tentative and the specific type of information compromised is still being accessed.
