Amazon Fire Extinguisher Ball Recall – Class Action Investigation
Chimicles Schwartz Kriner Donaldson-Smith is investigating a potential class action lawsuit related to a recent voluntary recall issued to consumers by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) about the potential dangers of certain fire extinguisher balls sold on Amazon. According to the CPSC, these fire extinguisher balls allegedly fail to extinguish fires, contributing to an increased risk of serious injury and possible death. In addition, these devices do not meet standard safety requirements for fire extinguishers, including the NFPA 10 Standard for Portable Fire Extinguishers, among a few other safety requirements.
Consumers that currently possess these recalled fire extinguisher balls are advised to stop use of them immediately, along with disposing of them. Amazon has not offered any kind of refund process for money paid out-of-pocket for these alleged dangerous devices.
Specific fire extinguisher ball brands affected include:
- LVYXON: B0BCPL2QY8 and B0BCPH6M9L
- TATTCHINE: B0BCYXZ5H9 and B0BCYWR1VH
- ARMYJY: B0BB6Y1JQQ
