Acura AWD Failure/Transfer Case Investigation
CSKD is investigating potential class action claims involving allegations that certain Acura vehicles contain a defect that can cause a loss of all-wheel-drive (AWD) functionality. The alleged defect involves the mechanical failure of splines at the interface between the transmission and transfer case.
In many cases, consumers may be unaware that their vehicle has lost AWD capability because the vehicle’s “AWD Torque Distribution” monitor may continue to indicate that power is being sent to the rear wheels even after mechanical separation has occurred. The failure may not trigger an AWD malfunction warning. However, technicians have reportedly observed orange or discolored transfer case fluid and metal shavings during inspections of affected vehicles.
The investigation currently focuses on:
- 2021-2023 Acura TLX vehicles
- 2022-2023 Acura MDX vehicles
If you own or lease one of these vehicles and know or suspect that your vehicle has lost AWD functionality, please complete the form below.
