Global Plasma Solutions Inc. Accused of Misleading Claims Concerning Its Needlepoint Bipolar Ionization Devices

A class action lawsuit has been filed in federal court in Delaware against Global Plasma Solutions Inc. (“GPSI”), accusing the company of making false and misleading claims concerning its Needlepoint Bipolar Ionization products.

GPSI sells air purification devices for installation in ductwork in schools, hospitals, businesses, and homes. The products generate positive and negative ions, which GPSI claims in marketing materials purify the air by eliminating volatile organic compounds and killing viruses, including COVID-19.

The plaintiff in the putative class action lawsuit alleges that GPSI’s claims are false and misleading because they are based on flawed evidence and that independent studies show the devices are at best ineffective and at worst potentially harmful.
