Target Gift Card Promotion Bait-and-Switch  – Class Action Investigation

Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith are investigating a potential class action lawsuit related to reports that Target’s gift card promotion may allegedly be a bait-and-switch scheme. It is reported by several consumers that Target promotes sales of certain items on their website by offering a Target gift card following purchase of the item. However, some are reporting that they never receive a gift card following the purchase of the promoted item. When contacting customer service, they will be told that the gift card promotion was posted in error or was a glitch, leaving these purchasers without a gift card as promised since Target claims they cannot honor gift card promotions that were posted by mistake.
