Muskogee City County Enhanced 911 Trust Authority Data Breach – Class Action Investigation
Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith is investigating a potential class action relating to a data breach incident involving Muskogee City County Enhanced 911 Trust Authority (“MCC911”), an organization who provides residents of both the City and County of Muskogee in Oklohama with emergency services. The Company confirmed that health plan members had their information taken in a data breach incident according to a filing with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
What Happened at MCC911?
Between April 4, 2024, to July 31, 2024, an unauthorized user accessed MCC911’s system. Following discovery of the unauthorized activity on July 25, 2024, MCC911 retained a cybersecurity firm to conduct further investigation to confirm the scope of the breach.
Following the investigation’s completion, it was confirmed that the sensitive personal and medical information belonging to an estimated 180,000 individuals who received emergency medical services any time between January 2011 and April 2023. The information compromised may have included, but not limited to the following: full name; social security number, date of birth; address; medical diagnosis/conditions; medication and/or treatment information, medical procedure(s), hospital provider name, and health insurance information
