Magellan All LeadCare Blood Lead Testing Systems – Healthcare Provider Investigation
Chimicles & Tikellis is investigating a potential class action lawsuit on behalf of hospitals, healthcare providers and doctors that paid for a blood lead testing system sold by Magellan Diagnostics Inc. (a subsidiary of Meridian Bioscience). The Food and Drug Administration issued a Safety Notice on May 17, 2017 “warning Americans that certain lead tests manufactured by Magellan Diagnostics may provide inaccurate results for some children and adults in the United States” and recommending that parents of young children, pregnant women and nursing mothers who have been tested for lead exposure with this device “consult a health care professional about whether they should be retested.” In or around May of 2017, Magellan issued a “Safety Communication to Customers of All LeadCare Blood Testing Systems” that instructed healthcare providers, in light of the FDA’s Safety Notice, to stop using venous blood samples with the product.
Chimicles & Tikellis is investigating whether Magellan Diagnostics is reimbursing hospitals, healthcare providers and doctors for the full amount of money they paid for LeadCare Blood Testing Systems that can no longer be used. If this describes your situation, please contact the attorneys below.
