Lowe’s False Reference Pricing – Class Action Investigation
Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith (CSK&D) is actively investigating potential class action claims on behalf of individuals who purchased merchandise from Lowe’s Home Centers, LLC (“Lowe’s”) under promotional “discounts” that referenced inflated “original” prices. Consumers were led to believe they were receiving genuine savings when, in fact, the higher reference prices rarely reflected any prior selling price.
If you bought appliances, tools, hardware, or other home‑improvement goods at a Lowe’s retail store or on Lowes.com between November 2024 and today, you may have been affected. You saw “regular”, or “list” prices crossed out in favor of “sale” prices, but you never encountered the purported higher prices during checkout or in earlier promotions. Receipts, order confirmations, screenshots, or other documentation showing both the crossed‑out price and the discounted price will help support your claim.
Our investigation focuses on whether Lowe’s false reference‑pricing scheme misled consumers into overpaying by creating the illusion of real discounts, violated state and federal consumer‑protection statutes (including unfair and deceptive trade practices laws), and deprived shoppers of the benefit of true competitive pricing.
