Johnson & Johnson Health Plan Prescription Drug Overpricing
Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith is investigating a potential class action lawsuit on behalf of employees of Johnson & Johnson who may have overpaid for prescription drugs covered by their employer-sponsored health insurance plans. Specifically, it is reported that certain Pharmacy Benefit Managers (“PBMs”) such as Express Scripts – who negotiate drug prices for health plans – have been setting inflated prices for medications that are significantly higher than their true market value. This conduct may have resulted in Johnson & Johnson employees paying substantially more for their essential prescriptions through their Johnson & Johnson medical insurance than they would have paid if they did not have any employer-sponsored medical insurance.
