Chimicles & Tikellis is investigating a potential class action lawsuit on behalf of individuals who purchased or leased the following Volkswagen and Audi vehicles equipped with 2.0L TDI clean diesel engines (the “Class Vehicles”):

Recently, Volkswagen admitted that it used software that allowed the Class Vehicles to circumvent various EPA emissions standards. In 2014, the EPA opened an investigation into Volkswagen after learning of that the Class Vehicles emitted nitrous-oxide well in excess of existing standards. Subsequently, Volkswagen admitted it had knowingly installed a “sophisticated software algorithm” that enabled the Class Vehicles to reduce the amount of nitrous-oxide within the legal limits only when the algorithm determined the Class Vehicles were being tested for emissions compliance. When in operation by owners and lessees, however, the Class Vehicles emit nitrous-oxide well in excess of federal and state standards.
