Valspar Exterior Paint Cracking, Peeling, Bubbling and Warping Class Action Investigation
Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith LLP (CSK&D) is investigating reports that some Valspar paint causes extensive damage to siding on consumers’ homes despite proper application.
Valspar is a subsidiary of Sherwin-Williams that offers a variety of paint and coating products. Valspar specifically markets its exterior housing paints as well-suited for application to different sidings, including vinyl siding. Valspar paint is promoted as being “flexible,” crack- and peel-resistant, and the “perfect defense against dirt, moisture, and extreme weather.” Despite Valspar’s claims about the quality and durability of its paint products, customers report experiencing a slew of problems after applying Valspar exterior paint to their siding and homes, including that the paint cracks, chips, and peels, and causes siding to buckle, expand, warp, and discolor. This damage can cost homeowners thousands of dollars as it often necessitates additional painting, restoration, or replacement of siding.
Valspar and Sherwin-Williams’ representations concerning the quality of its exterior paints are reportedly false and may be in violation of state and federal consumer protection laws. If you have purchased Valspar exterior paint and have experienced any of the above issues, please contact the lawyers listed below.
