Unpaid Interns – Class Action Investigation

Chimicles & Tikellis is investigating a potential class action lawsuit on behalf of unpaid interns.  It has been alleged that various companies have been misclassifying unpaid interns as exempt from minimum wage and overtime requirements, violating the federal Fair Labor Standards Act and various state wage and hour laws.  It has been further alleged that these interns performed the same tasks as nonexempt employees in their respective departments, but the interns received no compensation or academic credit for their work.
