Toledo School District Data Breach – Class Action Investigation

CSK&D is investigating a potential data breach class action lawsuit relating to recent news that the Toledo Public Schools (“TPS”), a Ohio school district, was the victim of a data breach.

Specifically, it is reported that hackers stole a cache of nearly 9GB containing sensitive data for an unspecified number students, faculty, and staff. On September 14, 2020, ransomware group Maze claimed online that they had successfully hacked the TPS system. The stolen data was consequently confirmed by several TPS staff members as valid data that belonged to TPS. TPS disclosed that it only became aware of the breach on October 16, 2020, a month after the breach occurred.

As a result of the breach, it is alleged that the following information may have been compromised: (a) names; (b) addresses; (c) birthdates; (d) phone numbers; and (e) social security numbers.

If you believe your personal information may have been compromised as a result of this breach, please contact the attorney(s) listed below by using the form provided.
