Tea Bag Microplastics – Class Action Investigation

CSK&D is investigating reports that certain types of gourmet tea brands have tea bags containing plastic that can leech microplastics , or very small particles of dust, when steeped in hot water. According to a study conducted by McGill University in Montreal, certain gourmet teas often use pyramid-shaped tea bags containing food-grade plastic including polyethylene terephthalate (found in plastic bottles) and nylon (used in food bags and pouches).
