Sunscreen Pills False Advertising

Class Action Investigation

Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith LLP (CSK&D) is investigating a potential class action alleging that supplement manufacturers falsely advertise the efficacy of their “sunscreen pills.” These supplements purportedly serve as a viable alternative to topically-applied sunscreens. At the moment, no scientific research exists to corroborate claims that any sunscreen pill brand is effective in reducing the risk of skin cancer.

In recent news, the FDA issued a warning letter accusing the supplement manufacturers of engaging in misleading advertising. These brands include:

  • Advanced Skin Brightening Formula;
  • Sunsafe RX;
  • Solariscare; and
  • Sunergetic

None of these supplements are FDA approved, nor is the safety or efficacy of these products verified.

If you have purchased sunscreen supplements manufactured by the above (or other) companies that purport to reduce the risk of skin cancer, please contact the attorney listed below by filling out the provided form.
