Scout Tricorder – Potential Class Action Litigation

Scout Tricorder – Potential Class Action Litigation

Chimicles & Tikellis is investigating a potential class action lawsuit on behalf of consumers who purchased “Scout,” a device marketed as a real-life version of the Star Trek Tricorder. Scout was designed to measure vital signs like body temperature and oxygen saturation of the blood. It automatically uploaded this data to a smartphone, where it could be tracked and shared with a doctor. It has been reported that in early December 2016, Scout’s manufacturer, Scanadu, announced that it will shut down the devices in early 2017, apparently in order to comply with federal regulations. Consumers reportedly paid between $149 and $269 for these devices.
