Samsung Energy Star

Chimicles & Tikellis LLP has filed a class action lawsuit in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey on behalf of consumers who purchased Samsung refrigerator model RF26VAB.  According to the complaint, these refrigerators were advertised as qualifying for the government’s Energy Star standards for energy efficiency.  Energy Star qualified refrigerators are required by the United States Department of Energy to use 20% less energy than standard models, and are typically more expensive.  The complaint alleges that these Samsung refrigerators did not properly qualify for the Energy Star standards for energy efficiency, and use significantly more energy than that label states.
