Safe Home Security Data Breach Investigation

Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith is investigating potential class action claims against Safe Home Security, Inc., a prominent residential and commercial security provider, for a reported data security incident that is alleged to have impacted the personal information and highly sensitive physical security data of millions of individuals.

According to recent dark web monitoring reports, a threat actor has claimed to have accessed Safe Home Security’s internal systems. As of this posting, this breach has not been confirmed by Safe Home Security, nor has it been officially reported by any state attorney generals.

What Happened at Safe Home Security?

On February 7, 2026, dark web monitors reported that a threat actor posted a massive database for sale on a dark web forum. The actor claims to be selling a 7-terabyte dataset for $20,000 USD—a high price point limited to only three buyers, which might suggests a higher confidence in the data’s validity and exclusivity among cybercriminals.

While no official breach notification has been issued to consumers or regulators, the dark web listing alleges that the compromised files contain over 2.8 million confidential documents and approximately 345,000 media records spanning years of historical data.

What Information Was Compromised?

According to the threat actor’s description and sample data posted online, the compromised information includes highly sensitive personal and physical security details, including but not limited to:

  • Surveillance Footage (audio and video recordings from customer homes)
  • Security System Data (alarm passwords and system hardware schematics)
  • Medical Alert Agreements
  • Unredacted Social Security Numbers
  • Government IDs
  • Payment Card Details & Credit Reports
  • Physical Addresses

Why Is This Important?

If these allegations are confirmed, the exposure of this specific type of information places customers at a critical safety risk not just of financial fraud, but of physical burglary, extortion, blackmail, and severe privacy violations regarding their in-home activities.
