Russell Stover Data Breach – Class Action Investigation

Russel Stover Data Breach – Class Action Investigation

Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith LLP (“CSK&D”) is investigating a potential class action lawsuit against Russell Stover on behalf of its customers following news that it detected a security breach to its electronic payment card processing and transmission of confidential customer information.

On August 30, 2019, Russell Stover issued a website notice identifying that an “unauthorized actor possibly gained access to Russell Stover’s point-of-sale (POS) systems through malware” at its retail store locations that occurred between February 9, 2019, through August 7, 2019.  Russell Stover further acknowledged that the credit and debit card data acquired may have including “some consumers’ first and last names, [and] payment card numbers and expiration dates.”

CSK&D has experience handling similar data breach lawsuits, and represents its clients on a contingency fee basis – meaning they do not pay the law firm for its services  whether we win or lose.
