Redbox Unauthorized Charges- Class Action Investigation

Redbox Unauthorized Charges- Class Action Investigation

Chimicles & Tikellis is investigating  a potential class action lawsuit related to consumers allegedly incurring unauthorized charges to their credit or debit cards for “unreturned” film or video game rentals that were returned. Consumers have reported being charged for film or game rentals weeks after  they have been returned to a Redbox vending machine due to the Redbox system somehow not recording their returned film or game rentals properly.

When following up with customer service about this issue, consumers have alleged that Redbox representatives often act very skeptical over any reports of either a technical glitch or potentially defective vending machine causing returned film or game rentals to not properly be recorded as returned in the system. Some consumers have even alleged that this skepticism makes it difficult to receive refunds of these unauthorized charges, especially when the system is often referred to as “fail-proof.”

If you have incurred unauthorized charges by Redbox for returned film or game rentals being recorded wrongly as “unreturned” by the Redbox system, please contact the attorney(s) listed below.
