Pixel 4 XL Face Recognition and Battery – Class Action Investigation

CSK&D is investigating a potential class action case concerning Google’s Pixel 4 XL phones. They are reportedly having issues with the 3D face recognition security and battery defects.

The facial recognition feature does not include an alertness setting to only unlock when the owner’s eyes are open and looking at it. This allegedly allows anyone to wave the phone in front of the owner’s face, even if they are not looking and unlock the phone.

The battery allegedly has a flaw where it will stop charging and show a “?” on the battery. Google has added an additional one year extended warranty for this phone, but reportedly consumers have had to replace multiple phones for this issue.
