What happened at Passion.io?

According to recent reports, a massive, unsecured database belonging to Passion.io was discovered to be publicly accessible, exposing a significant amount of personal and financial information. This database contained 12.2 terabytes of unencrypted data.

Based on the initial survey of the information found, it is believed that the information compromised as a result of this breach includes, but is not limited to, the following: names, email addresses, physical addresses, payment details, user profile images (some belonging to children), videos, PDF files, internal financial records, spreadsheet documents labeled “users” and “invoices,” and other internal documents and videos uploaded by creators. This breach potentially affects over 3.6 million individuals.
