OneBlood Data Breach – Class Action Investigation
Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith is investigating a potential class action relating to a data breach incident involving blood donation non-profit company OneBlood. The Company serves hundreds of hospitals in Alabama, Florida, South Carolina, and North Carolina.
What Happened at OneBlood?
Specifically, it is reported that OneBlood experienced ransomware attack on or around July 31, 2024 resulting in outage to their system that has greatly impacted OneBlood’s ability to ship blood products to various hospitals in the southeastern US.
OneBlood has yet to confirm the exact scope of the breach and the information that may have been compromised as result.
