Omni Family Health Data Breach – Class Action Investigation
Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith LLP is investigating a potential class action lawsuit relating to a data breach incident involving Omni Family Health (“Omni Health”), a medical provider with several locations throughout Kern, Kings, Tulare, and Fresno counties in California. Omni Health filed a report about the breach with the U.S. Department of Health and Human services.
What Happened at Omni Health?
On or around August 7, 2024. the company discovered that an unauthorized user had gained access to Omni Health’s computer system. Omni Health hired a third-party forensic who confirmed a cache of sensitive data was taken from their system belonging to an estimated 468,344 individual including both current/former patients, as well as current/former employees
The patient information compromised includes, but not limited to: name, address, social security number, date of birth, health insurance plan information, and medical information. Information belonging to current/former employees, includes, but not limited to: name, address, social security number, date of birth, medical information, health insurance information, and financial account information related to direct deposit.
