Ocwen Bait and Switch – Class Action Investigation

Chimicles & Tikellis is investigating a potential class action lawsuit on behalf of consumers who have their mortgages through the Ocwen Loan Servicing Company, and have been enrolled in a home warranty or service plan through Cross Country Home Services, Inc. It has been alleged that Ocwen customers were sent checks in small amounts (approximately $2.50), which they were led to believe was a rebate or refund related to their mortgage. In actuality, by cashing these checks Ocwen mortgage customers were enrolled in a home warranty or service plan from third party Cross Country. Once enrolled, these customers are then subjected to a $19.95 monthly fee, usually designated as a “PREM – Cross Country Home Services” charge, HomeSure, Residential MD Gold, Systems MD Gold, or something similar.
