Chimicles & Tikellis is investigating a potential lawsuit against New England Compounding Co. (“NECC”) regarding allegations that it shipped dangerously contaminated steroid injections of methylprednisolone acetate. NECC produced and sold over 17,000 single-dose vials of the contaminated steroid, which was sent to more than 70 clinics across 15 states. The Food and Drug Administration investigation prompted a recall of all of the single-dose steroid vials. Individuals who were injected with the steroid have suffered symptoms such as severe headaches, slurred speech, heavy tongue, fevers, photosensitivity, neck pain, stroke, and death.
