MCBS, LLC Data Breach Class Action Investigation
What Happened at MCBS?
In or around September 2025, MCBS, LLC experienced a significant cybersecurity incident. Public reports indicate that a ransomware group known as “PEAR” breached the company’s computer network and stole a large quantity of sensitive files. According to cybersecurity news sources, the cybercriminals exfiltrated approximately 3.3 terabytes of data from MCBS’s systems. As of late October 2025, it is believed that MCBS has not yet formally notified potentially affected individuals that their information was compromised in the attack.
What Information Was Compromised?
The data stolen from MCBS’s network may include, but is not limited to, the following sensitive information for patients and employees:
- Full names
- Addresses
- Social Security numbers
- Dates of birth
- Government-issued identification numbers (e.g., driver’s licenses)
- Health insurance provider details
- Medical information, including treatments, diagnoses, medications, and lab results
- Financial and banking information
- Email addresses and phone numbers
Why Is This Important?
The exposure of this combination of highly sensitive personal and protected health information places affected individuals at a significantly increased and imminent risk of identity theft, financial fraud, medical fraud, and other related harm. This type of information is highly valued by criminals and can be exploited for years to come. Victims may need to spend considerable time and money monitoring their accounts and mitigating the potential damages.
