Chimicles & Tikellis is investigating a potential antitrust price fixing class action on behalf of persons or entities that purchased liquid aluminum sulfate directly from any of the following entities between 1997 to July 2010: Frank A. Reichl, General Chemical Corporation, General Chemical Performance Product, LLC, GenTek Inc., and Chemtrade Logistics Inc. Liquid aluminum sulfate is a water treatment chemical that is widely used by municipalities to treat drinking water and wastewater. Pulp and paper companies also use liquid aluminum sulfate in their pulp and paper manufacturing processes. On October 26, 2015, the U.S. Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division announced that a former executive of a water treatment chemicals manufacturer pled guilty in New Jersey federal court to one count of violating the Sherman Act. The Justice Department had alleged that over the course of a 13-year period, certain liquid aluminum sulfate manufacturers met to discuss each other’s business, intentionally submitted losing bids, and withdrew inadvertent winning bids.
If you have purchased liquid aluminum sulfate directly from any of the entities listed above, please contact us to discuss this investigation.
