Kashi False Advertising – Investigation

Chimicles & Tikellis is investigating a class action against Kashi Co, a subsidiary of Kellogg Co.  Kashi markets its cereals and snacks as a healthy alternative to other products on the market.  It is alleged that Kashi disguises sugar in its lists of ingredients by instead listing “evaporated cane juice” or “evaporated cane juice crystals.”  Kashi fails to disclose that “evaporated cane juice” is not actually juice and is considered to be a processed sugar.  Many of Kashi’s products’ labels list “evaporated cane juice” as an ingredient despite the fact that the FDA has specifically warned companies not to use the term because it is “false and misleading,” is not “the common or usual name of any type of sweetener,” and the ingredient is not, in fact, juice.  If you purchased a Kashi product which listed evaporated cane juice as one of its ingredients please click on the “Email us about this Case” to contact the attorneys below.
