Infinity Insurance Company Data Breach – Class Action Investigation
CSK&D is investigating a potential class action lawsuit against Kemper Corporation (“Kemper”) and Infinity Insurance Company (“Infinity”) relating to a data security incident that occurred near the end of December, 2020. Kemper is a larger insurance company who acquired Infinity in 2018. On December 26, 2021, Infinity discovered that an unauthorized party accessed files on certain company servers over the course of two days in late December 2021.
On or around March 16, 2021, the Company began sending out formal notice to all those who may have been potentially impacted by the breach, including an unspecified number of employees and customers of Infinity Insurance. As result of the breach, the following information was compromised: names, addresses, social security numbers, driver and vehicle information, and payment data including bank account and card numbers.
