Inaccessible Websites – Potential ADA Violations

Chimicles & Tikellis is investigating potential class action lawsuits against companies whose websites and apps are inaccessible to the blind and visually impaired. The Americans with Disabilities Act requires companies that maintain physical places of public accommodation to also ensure that their websites provide persons with disabilities with reasonable access to their goods or services. It has been widely reported that the websites of many retailers, hotels and other businesses may be incompatible with the screen reading software utilized by visually impaired to access websites – thus making them impossible for these persons to access. C&T is investigating whether this conduct may violate the ADA and certain state anti-discrimination laws.
