Hyundai Kona Vehicle Fire – Class Action Investigation
CSK&D is investigating a potential class action case concerning reports that 2019 Hyundai Kona vehicles carry risk of fire related to a problem with the battery cell. To address this issue, it has been reported that dealers will implement a “re-flash” software update to the vehicle’s battery so that it only be charged to a reduced capacity. Reducing the battery capacity by more than 10% is a significant reduction in the amount of mileage that these vehicles could otherwise travel on a full charge.
