Hyundai and Kia Engine and Oil Contamination Class Action Investigation

Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith LLP (CSK&D) is investigating potential claims related to an alleged design defect in Theta II Direct Injection engines in certain Hyundai and Kia vehicles. The allegedly defective engines develop one of two issues related to contamination: either the oil turns into “sludge,” or the engine’s intake valves develop excessive carbon build up. These alleged defects may cause vehicle failure even if the vehicle owners regularly maintain their engines and change their oil at the recommended intervals.
