Health Insurance Company Improper Denial of Therapeutic Treatments – Class Action Investigation
CSK&D is investigating reports that certain health insurance organizations may be improperly denying patient therapeutic treatments for different medical conditions and categorizing these treatments as “experimental” when the treatments are, in fact, not experimental and are even indicated. Therapeutic treatments are often widely accepted by the medical community and well-substantiated by various peer-reviewed studies for a multitude of different health conditions. Many therapeutic treatments, when denied by insurance organizations, are cited as not being approved by the FDA or clinical testing in treating the symptoms of their diagnosed condition. This forces patients to pay for treatments out of pocket and waste valuable time going through insurance appeals processes. Often times, insurance companies will reverse their coverage decision only after patients are steadfast in the appeals process.
If you have been denied health insurance coverage for a particular treatment on the grounds that it is “experimental” and believe the treatment should have been covered, please contact the lawyers listed below.
