Chimicles & Tikellis is investigating a potential class action lawsuit on behalf of consumers who have their mortgages through the GreenTree Mortgage, and have been enrolled in a home warranty or service plan through Cross Country Home Services, Inc. We are investigating whether GreenTreeMortgage customers were sent checks in small amounts (approximately $2.50), which they were led to believe was a rebate or refund related to their mortgage. By cashing these checks GreenTreeMortgage customers would be enrolled in a home warranty or service plan from third party Cross Country. Once enrolled, these customers are then subjected to a $19.95 monthly fee, usually designated as a “PREM – Cross Country Home Services” charge, HomeSure, Residential MD Gold, Systems MD Gold, TotalProtect, Home Protect, or something similar.
