Green Chef Free Trial Billing Practices- Class Action Investigation

Green Chef Free Trial Billing Practices- Class Action Investigation

Chimicles & Tikellis is investigating a potential class action against Green Chef relating to reports that Green Chef engages in fraudulent billing practices with respect to its meal subscriptions. Green Chef is a meal subscription program allowing consumers to customize meal choices that are delivered weekly. Consumer complaints and reports indicate that consumers are offered a free trial period, limited to a certain allotment of meals, without realizing that they had automatically been subscribed to receiving ongoing meals. By the time that these consumers receive their first box as part of their trial, they allegedly are charged for the next week of meals. Other complaints suggest that consumers also continue to receive unauthorized charges to their bank accounts even after they had cancelled their subscription and placed limitations on their account to skip the next few weeks of meals to ensure they will not be charged any longer. The Company reportedly makes it difficult for consumers to obtain refunds for alleged unauthorized charges, offering free credit towards future meals instead.
