Give & Go Bakery Products Listeria Recall – Class Action Investigation
CSK&D is investigating a potential class action lawsuit related to news about the FDA issuing a recall for multiple bakery products produced by Give and Go Prepared Foods because they may be contaminated with Listeria, a bacteria that causes other healthy individuals to experience flu-like symptoms. The recalled bakery products are generally sold under two Walmart-exclusive labels including Great Value and Marketside. However, other bakery products sold at other retailers have also been cited in the recall including those under the following product labels: Uncle Wally, The Worthy Crumb, 7-Eleven Selects, and Freshness Guaranteed.
While majority of individuals can quickly bounce back from a Listeria infection, there is cause for concern for the immunocompromised, younger children, and the elderly, for whom listeria infections could prove fatal. The FDA has advised consumers and retailers dispose of affected products immediately. Give and Go Prepared Foods has reportedly not offered any kind of refund and/or reimbursement of costs for anyone who purchased these recalled products.
