Gannett Advertiser Misinformation – Class Action Investigation
Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith LLP is investigating a potential class action lawsuit on behalf of advertisers who were reportedly provided with inaccurate information from publishing company by Gannett Co. about the placement of their ads. It has been reported that Gannett Co., owner of the USA Today as well as several other news outlets across the country, misinformed advertisers into believing they were purchasing ad placement in the USA Today and other widely read publications when the ads were actually being placed in the one of many local news outlets owned by Gannett. This alleged error as to the placement of ads in Gannett’s news publication took place between May 2021- March 4, 2022.
