Flushable Wipes – Potential Litigation

Chimicles & Tikellis is investigating a potential class action lawsuit on behalf of consumers who used “flushable” wipes and experienced plumbing problems, such as clogged toilets or clogged septic tanks. Many wipes are labeled as being flushable, biodegradable, and/or septic or sewer safe.  This includes pre-moistened wipes, such as those designed for babies and toddlers.  C&T is investigating reports that certain wipes do not actually break down and can result in serious plumbing problems, including flooding, clogging, and jammed sewers or septic tanks. C&T is specifically investigating complaints associated with wipes made by Kimberly-Clark, Kleenex Cottonelle, Wet Ones, Charmin, and Scott.
